The Walk is in the heart of the Jumeirah Beach Residences, home to 15,000 visitors and residents who can enjoy Jumeirah’s glorious beach, and the facilities and live entertainment of The Walk – all on their doorstep. It’s a great place to hang out, enjoy a drink, grab a snack and watch life pass by. It’s on two levels, Plaza and ground and just oozes style.
With coffee shops, restaurants and snack bars galore, you’ll find a perfect venue to quench your thirst or whet the appetite, and at the same time view the many spectacles of Jumeirah life. From Subway and Starbucks to local bars and restaurants, you won’t be disappointed, they’re all there. For serious cuisine visitors are spoilt for choice with so many exclusive award winning gourmet restaurants, in the luxury hotels that line the promenade.
It’s a great place to shop for exclusive handicrafts, bags and jewellery, both from the stalls, where I love to browse, and the stunning designer stores on the Plaza level, where I try hard not to let my credit card escape! On a recent visit I viewed the work of local UAE artists, displayed in the outdoor gallery, part of a recent project that was just alive with colour. The Walk is a melting pot of Western and Arab style entertainment, some of which is live, and it’s a place where the young, old, locals and visitors congregate in harmony.
In the heat of summer when humidity and temperatures soar, The Walk empties during the day, as the crowds seek the comfort of air-conditioned lounges or malls. When temperatures drop to a comfortable level and the humidity is bearable, there is nowhere like this pedestrian- friendly promenade. It buzzes from breakfast till late … It offers a constantly changing road show of art, dance and culture that will not fail to captivate.
