‘Twitter the Opera’?!
August 19th, 2009 by LG Blog UK
The Royal Opera House has called on the general public to help them write a opera out of tweets!
The public will be donating there ideas and thoughts for the lyrics and story line of this wacky new opera style. It is an experimental opera, which is trying to break down the barrier between the audience and the art form. The show will be held at the Royal Opera House on the 4th-6th September with people twits set to music.
See the full BBC video report here.
It's an interesting idea but will it work? As Backbytes points out:

Augmented Reality pt 2: The T-Shirt
March 16th, 2009 by LG Blog UK
Those smart boys over at Squidder are finding some amazing ways of mashing up the real and the virtual..
Not content with creating a barcode T-shirt that projects out the wearer's Twitter feed...
PaperTweet3d: Augmented Reality T-shirts from squidder on Vimeo.
...they are now experimenting with a facial recognition-meets-Twitter functionality
Facial recognition meets Twitter (kind of) from squidder on Vimeo.

January 29th, 2009 by LG Blog UK
Chris just introduced me to TwitterFall
Twitterfall is a way of viewing the latest 'tweets' of upcoming trends on the micro-blogging site Twitter. Updates fall from the top of the page in near-realtime.

Current trends include Digital Britain and the Superbowl, as well as the option of creating a custom trend, however:
These do not use the same method...

The UK – a future global hub for mobile?
August 14th, 2008 by LG Blog UK
There's an interesting post today over at Techcrunch entitled "Why the UK can become the global hub for mobile", talking about the UK's potential for becoming a mobile technology pioneer - thanks to an established userbase and some gifted startups:
The UK mobile market is a great place to launch mobile 2.0 startups; all five national network operators are offering 3G services, and faster 3.5G HSDPA networks are being widely rolled out. There are already over 15m 3G subs, around 25% of all mobile connections. Believe it or not, UK operators have been much quicker than those in...

Taking the LG Secret for a spin on Flickr
June 5th, 2008 by LG Blog UK
With yesterday being a lovely day I went out for a stroll at lunch and took some photos with the LG Secret, which you can enjoy over at our brand new LG Blog Flickr photostream. They came out pretty well - I even mucked about a bit with some of the camera's settings including macro (the bluebells) and the colour filter (as seen by the sepia houses). Check them out below and be sure to look at the whole set.
Be sure to add us as a friend on Flickr and if you are the lucky owner of...
