As the song says, Christmas is the “most wonderful time of the year” and it is - sometimes. September 24th, 2010 by LG Blog UK

I have to be honest with you all – I’m addicted to Twitter! I’ve heard it referred to as ‘Facebook Light’ and ‘Fakebook’, but these are from people who haven’t tried it. People not familiar with Twitter will be unaware of something called ‘Follow Fridays’, where the basic idea is for a user to share the Twitter users they value the most and are thus worth following. And of course it is done on a Friday! Well we have decided to branch out with a follow Friday right here on the blog, offering the lowdown on some of the best users to...

The LG Cookie Fresh

March 15th, 2010 by LG Blog UK

A few weeks back I reported on the ‘sequel’ to LG’s massively successful Cookie phone. Well it looks like it has not only a tentative release date, but a new friend to go with it. LG’s Cookie Plus will now be joined by the Cookie Fresh! The phone was unveiled at the CeBit technology exhibition in Hanover at the beginning of March. Pitched as a direct successor to the Cookie, the Cookie Fresh will be an entry-level phone aimed at younger users with a three-inch touchscreen and a widget based homescreen that is designed for the user to customise according to...

Combat social networking withdrawals with the GW620 InTouch Max

February 22nd, 2010 by LG Blog UK

Browsing facebook at work is understandably frowned upon under normal circumstances, but not today, for I have a legitimate reason for keeping up to date with social networking on work’s time. The GW620 is packed full of features to enable social networking on the go and I selflessly jumped at the chance to spend some time testing them out.   First on the agenda was Linkbook, which allows quick and direct access to your friends’ facebook pages via your contact list. Adding a facebook link to a contact is incredibly simple, just click a link on the contacts screen that directs you...

LG Blog at the Avatar World Premiere

December 11th, 2009 by LG Blog UK

Last night the LG Blog went to the world premiere of the eagerly awaited Avatar. Leicester Square was jam packed with screaming fans, paparazzi and glammed up celebrities. With the new Chocolate BL40 sponsoring there was a clear LG presence at the premiere and gorgeous models in red gowns used the handsets to take pictures of the guests for their own Avatar character which can be created online. The standard premiere red carpet had been replaced by an electric Avatar-blue one and I was busy on Twitter reporting on all the stars I saw. Just before the film started James Cameron took...

A world without technology

October 21st, 2009 by LG Blog UK

Don't get me wrong, I could not survive without my GW520 through which I email, text message, Twitter and Facebook, sometimes all at once. But there is some special, almost magical about finding an old letter, the smell of an envelope and the sentimental attachments you grow for these feather light paper messages. Just take a look at the example of history created on paper back in 1969, by the lead singer of the Rolling Stones, sent to one of the world's most famous artists Andy Warhol. It would most likely never have been available for us to see had it been...
