In the year 2000, a shocking 11 years ago, the buzz of the online world surrounded the legal challenge against the peer to peer file sharing service Napster. Legendary metal band Metallica were one of the leaders of this court case, with Dr Dre following suit soon after. The eventual result of this was that Napster were ordered to prevent the trading of copyrighted music on its network. The result of this longterm was that Napster were eventually forced into liquidating their assets due to U.S bankruptcy laws.

To celebrate the release of LG’s new LG Optimus Android powered phone we have put our heads together and compiled a list of our 10 favourite apps available for Android users.

The future of Android

The future of streaming music from your Android handset just got a little closer.
Tech Crunch yesterday revealed plans for Google to launch a music service in the imminent future. Exciting news for all GW620 fans. This means that depending what service Google will be offering, it would make Google a Spotify competitor.
This news comes after it was revealed the Spotify service is to be included with an Android phone. This is an interesting move and hopefully it is only the beginning of phones offering high quality music streaming without having to compromise the quality of the handset.
