AVForums have released their review of LG’s PK990 Plasma TV this afternoon. The reviewer highlights the improvement in the depth of the blacks compared to older LG Plasmas as a big positive in this TV. Other noted positives in picture quality are the THX mode, which produces excellent Greyscale and Colour at the click of a button. Invisible speakers result in seamless design

February 19th, 2010 by LG Blog UK

Advances in LCD and Plasma display technology have enabled manufacturers to build TVs and other consumer electronics that deliver superior picture quality from a thin, sleek enclosure. Unfortunately, the demand for smaller, more attractive technology has reduced manufacturers to squeezing tiny versions of speakers into a strip along the bottom or on the back so they don’t take up significant space. As a result, the audio quality has declined substantially in newer TVs and other display products Subsequently as of 2009 all of LG’s plasma and LCD HDTV’s have been fitted with an invisible speaker system. Instead of traditional TV speakers that sit...

Edd Dale from LGE UK's training team took some time out of his busy schedule to present these videos about the 2009 TV range for us. Some of them introduce new models in the range, including the LG PS8000 Plasma and this one on the LF7700 LCD TV with built-in FreeSat: Others deal with specialized queries or explaining what the new features and technologies mean for the TV owner, such as USB connectivity or this demonstration of the - remarkable, I think, power-saving capabilities of the LG Intelligent Sensor - by constantly responding to the conditions of the surrounds the sensor...
