Hey big spenders!

August 28th, 2009 by LG Blog UK

As suggested in the Ofcom report I mentioned on Monday, we now have proof that us Brits aren't letting the recession put us off investing in new technology. A new report by the GfK Group shows that the flat panel TV market grew by 22.9% in the first half of this year, when compared to the same period in 2008. This is fantastic news for us in particular because LG is currently the fastest growing TV brand in the flat panel market, up 62% on value Jan – May. This means LG have now overtaken Sony! This is on top of one...

LG TVs continue to impress

August 25th, 2009 by LG Blog UK

In the run up to next week's IFA, with all the latest home entertainment technology to be unveiled, you'd be forgiven for thinking that TVs already on the market would be taking a bit of a back seat, but that's not the case for a couple of LG's 2009 range.. First off, the LG 42LH5000 breezed through What HiFi's 'Super Test' scoring 5 stars: Class-leading detail The TV’s ability to reproduce accurate and natural skin tones remains one of its main strengths, but detail, sharpness and motion are also class-leading. The Freeview tuner adds just a touch of noise to a delivery that’s...

Cnet is hot for the LG 50PS6000

July 17th, 2009 by LG Blog UK

I just noticed that this review of the LG 50PS6000 by Cnet is flagged as one of their 'hot' products; they've rated it as Excellent and say that "competition at this size is virtually non-existent. We're certain you won't get a better price than the one asked by LG for this screen". It's not just the price that impressed them either: The 50PS6000 is a serious piece of kit. From the moment you haul it out of its box, you can tell it means business. There's a 50-inch solid glass screen at the front, which gives the panel a striking look....

Which? cite LG’s LH2000 TV as “greener than Sony’s Eco WE5″

July 13th, 2009 by LG Blog UK

Independent Consumer group Which? say their researchers have seen a dramatic decrease in TV power consumption in 2009, particularly from brands like LG. The 42" LH2000 is in the current batch of TVs being tested at the Which? lab and has received full marks for its green credentials: The 40-inch Sony WE5, a model marketed as an Eco TV, also fared very well in our power consumption tests and boasts a range of 'Eco' features, but it didn't quite score as well in our energy efficiency tests as its larger, LG counterpart. Both models typically use around 90 watts when switched on...
