LG Mini: All the Apps, All the Features

June 18th, 2010 by Dave@LGUK

With the ongoing success of OS-supported handsets and a rash of Android phones set for release, smartphones are the hottest topic in the mobile industry. Though many factors account for this success, surely the most important is the array of applications, or apps, that let users do everything from read the newspaper to count their calories, and then instantly share all this information via social networking sites such as Google Buzz, Twitter and Facebook. But contrary to what you might think, apps aren’t only available on smartphones. In fact, as the LG Mini (LG GD880), which was recently released in...

LG get a cameo in Lady GaGa’s Telephone video

March 24th, 2010 by Dave@LGUK

We’ve had the eighties, the nineties and the noughties. But what do we call the decade we are in now? The ‘teens’ doesn’t sound quite right. I’m making a suggestion, why not call this decade the GaGa’s? Yes, technically she exploded onto the scene in a mass of over the top costumes and gender controversy in 2009, but this will be the decade that she makes her own. Her influence over music, fashion, pop culture and her hoards of adoring fans (affectionately known as monsters) is something bigger than pop superstardom. She commands the sort of devotion usually reserved for dictators. Her...

LG Blog at the Avatar World Premiere

December 11th, 2009 by Dave@LGUK

Last night the LG Blog went to the world premiere of the eagerly awaited Avatar. Leicester Square was jam packed with screaming fans, paparazzi and glammed up celebrities. The standard premiere red carpet had been replaced by an electric Avatar-blue one and I was busy on Twitter reporting on all the stars I saw. Just before the film started James Cameron took...

The LG InTouch Series

December 2nd, 2009 by Dave@LGUK

The traditional definition of community has changed as 58 per cent of people agree that the days of sharing a cuppa over the garden fence is gradually being replaced by a new sense of online community spirit, a recent survey from LG has revealed. The research shows that there is a clear shift from how local communities were developed in the past as we are no longer bound by a postcode which the traditional approach to society suggested. It seems that these new, more flexible communities which don’t require you to travel to meet are thriving through the use of social...
