The film of last year was undoubtedly Avatar. James Cameron redefined film making with his sci-fi epic set on the planet of Pandora, not to mention it being the first film to utilize the potential of 3D film making. I am sure you’ve all seen the pictures of the online Avatar role-players before, well our latest Home Entertainment Hero winner put on a spin on this by screening Avatar at his house, inviting his friends to dress up and even enjoy some specially selected blue snacks.

The Lord of the Rings Party – Our Third Home Entertainment Hero Winner

I’m sure we all know someone who boasts of having watched all three Lord of the Rings films back to back. They are great films, but that’s over 9 hours spent sat on the sofa and I just don’t have the patience.
So massive respect to Sophie Read and friends who not only watched the full extended trilogy, but also did so dressed up as characters from the film. The Blair Itch – our Second Home Entertainment Hero Winner!

The first time I saw The Blair Witch Project I thought it was real and I was terrified! I think it is only surpassed in the length of time it made me sleep with the lights on by The Exorcist (and I was FAR too young to watch The Exorcist when I did). I mention this because the second winner for the Home Entertainment Hero competition has been selected with his excellent video showcasing his Blair Witch Project film night.

Meet our first Home Entertainment Hero

Our current Home Entertainment Hero competition is giving those hosts who make the extra effort the chance to win an excellent full 3D home cinema system.
We’ve had loads of entries, from people throwing tea parties for their dog through to people painting themselves blue for an Avatar themed party, but the first winner of the 3D home cinema system was Michal Thomas. Michal went all out turning his garden into a football stadium complete with stadium seating salvaged from the Old Wembley Stadium and a specially built open sided structure with a roof to protect from the unpredictable English Weather....
