Google bring Maps 4.4 to Android

The rise and rise of Android is attributable to many factors. Things like the variety of handset choices, the openness of the apps for developers and the price in comparison to other smartphones being a big factor. For me one of my favourite things about Android is the inclusion of Google Maps as standard, including being able to use it as a sat-nav tool for free! To celebrate the release of LG’s new LG Optimus Android powered phone we have put our heads together and compiled a list of our 10 favourite apps available for Android users. 1. Google Maps coming to Android

More great news for all Android fans as Google Maps has revealed that they are taking their service to Android handsets. The system will be free and its quality far more superior than what is currently on offer. It will use voice search and you not necessarily need to know the full address to plan your journey. As if that was not enough, Google Maps will be able to use traffic information and  street view for helping you in your travels.
