LG TV Event – Ideal Home Show

Last week we held an exclusive forum & blogger TV event at the Ideal Home Show to preview the new LF7700 with built-in Freesat, the PS8000 HD Ready 1080p Plasma with THX and the LH7000 HD Ready 1080p and LU4000 HDTV LCDs.
At the event we were lucky enough to grab Ed from the LG training team to give us a thorough run-down of the units many selling points, representatives from Freesat and also representatives from the Energy Saving Trust who explained what led their organisation to endorsing the new range of LG TVs.

We've got our first review of the LF7700, new LG LCD TV with built-in Freesat, from Trusted Reviews.
Overall it's a very positive review, scoring 8/10 with their final verdict being:
The 42LF7700 has integrated its Freesat tuner well for the most part, and can produce some quite phenomenal pictures with the right kind of bright, colourful source material. If money's not too big an issue for you, I personally - movie lover that I am - would probably still be inclined to go for the Panasonic 42PZ81 over the new LG, on account of the Panasonic's superior black level response. LG partner with Freesat for 2009 range of TVs, including LF7700 series

Last week Freesat and LG signed a partnership deal which will result in a range of LG TV’s to be launched in the UK this year with Freesat HD built in. Similar to Freeview digital services, but broadcast via satellite, Freesat is a free service that normally requires a set-top box, prices of which start at £98.
Freesat HD offers a huge variety of viewing options enabling HD viewing on BBC and ITV in superb picture clarity without any subscription or contract.
