Plant Powered Air Purifier

French designer Mathieu Lenhanner together with Harward professor David Edwards have come up with a organic air purifier , powered by a houseplant.
The clever invention goes by the name of ANDREA and will be on sale from October. So how does it work?
The plant absorbes the air through its leaves and roots and the filtered air provides a more environmentally friendly option to the standard air purifier. It works best in a room as big as 40 m2 and it is very easy to maintain as the plant requires simply watering.

LG’s new Chocolate BL40 gets a stylish launch

Last night we had a real treat as we attended the UK launch of the fourth Black Label series handset - the Chocolate BL40:
The launch was at the Design Museum in London, with an exhibition dedicated to the evolution of the Black Label series, and evolution in product design in general.
We'll have a full debrief on the event - and guest speaker Wayne Hemingway (of Red or Dead and Hemingway design fame)'s presentation - with more photos and videos but for now, have a look at the event and the product video:

In the past week Gadget Venue have had a couple of interesting posts about Fridge Magnets, first a very cute Mario inspired set:
The set includes a small Mario, 1 small cloud, 1 hill, 1 tall pipe, 2 bricks, 1 item block, 1 power-up mushroom and 3 coins and each item is made of Perler beads.

Sinking Feeling

Just spotted this exceptionally beautiful piece of design on the perennially elegant Mocoloco.
Created by the NOTHING Design Group, this wash basin is inspired by the natural curvature of rivers and uses a pebble as both a tap and a plug.
I guess you'd be sacrificing some serious bathroom real estate to accommodate the unit, but boy would it be worth...
