Everything you know about ARGs is WRONG

January 9th, 2009 by Dave@LGUK

.. is the title of a very interesting 're-version' of a talk given at the Let’s Change the Game conference last month by Dan Hon of Six to Start. It's well worth a read if your interested in Alternate Reality Games or gaming generally - or even if you're not. I'm not really a proper gamer, definitely not an online gamer, at all; in 2007 I became a Widow of Warcraft and tried to get into Second Life (more dress shops than WOW) to give me a similar interest rather than lonely nights on the sofa. I soon realised the way...

October 21st, 2008 by Dave@LGUK

With the release of the Renoir KC910 nearly upon us, we thought we'd revisit the bloggers event we held for it a couple of weeks ago. Here you can see John Barton, LG's UK sales and marketing director, presenting the Renoir, followed by Jonathan Jowitt, Senior Technical Marketing Manager, Mobile of Dolby and Andy Glasson Sales Manager for Northern Europe from DivX. It's a bit dark at times but you can still get a good idea of things: Be sure to check out the Q&A videos on our YouTube channel, and if you like the look of it, be sure to...

Introducing our new Plasmas for this autumn

September 12th, 2008 by Dave@LGUK

Last night we launched our three new Plasma TVs at an exclusive bloggers event at Craven Cottage football ground - just like we did for LCDs a couple of weeks ago. A good crowd turned up, including Stephen from Gadgeteer and Phil, Sally & Lee from the AVForums. George Mead, LG UK’s marketing manager for TV, showed off our three new Plasmas for the second half of 2008 as well as discussing some of our plans with the future with the attendees: You can check out more photos of the event here. Anyway, you're probably dying to hear more about the...

August 29th, 2008 by Dave@LGUK

Last night we unveiled three new LCD televisions which form part of our autumn lineup of flat panels, exclusively to bloggers at Fulham FC's Craven Cottage stadium. LG's head of TV marketing George Mead took our guests through three LCD televisions, with a little presentation followed by a discussion: The three new TVs are: The LG Slimline Scarlet (LG6100) is the successor to the LG Scarlet and is the world's slimmest LCD TV with digital tuner integrated. July 31st, 2008 by Dave@LGUK

It's been a busy few days for us at the LG Blog as we've been giving the site a bit of a redesign and test - not much different but we've made the site a bit more useful and interesting: we now link to our Twitter, Flickr and YouTube profiles as well as the international versions of the blog (see the flags on the right). We hope you like the new bits and if there are any bugs then let us know. Anyway, normal service has now resumed and this is just a quick post to let you know that after...

July 24th, 2008 by Dave@LGUK

Some of the UK's top gadget blogs have been reviewing the LG Secret for us and we're really pleased to see the reaction from some of the experts out there - it means you don't have to just take our word for it about the phone. Daniel at Product Reviews gave the phone a detailed unboxing and went on to rave about the M-Toy, shooting a video of all the different games on it: Simon of Zath! focuses on the phone's toughness and a couple of quirks aside, it looks like he enjoyed it a lot too: Tempered Glass Screen – this looks...

Getting hands-on with the LG Secret

April 28th, 2008 by Dave@LGUK

Last Friday we had the pleasure of some of the UK's top tech and style bloggers at an exclusive event at London's May Fair Hotel to have a look at the new LG Secret. A good crowd turned up, and as well as meeting us in the flesh, they got a chance to hear from Jeremy Newing, UK head of marketing for LG Mobile. Jeremy first went through the phone's features with a presentation, and then he fielded a really engaging Q&A with the audience, talking about the progress LG Mobile have made, LG's plans for the future, including more open...
