The LG Blog’s Christmas Message
December 23rd, 2009 by Dave@LGUK
Merry Christmas Everybody!
It's been a brilliant 2009 for LG and it seems an apt time to look back at some of the highlights from this year!
We started the year on a high, winning the CES Innovations Award for the LH9500 LCD HDTV.
In February, we welcomed Marc from Coolest Gadgets to be our man on the scene covering MWC in Barcelona. It was the official launch of the Arena KM900, our first phone to include LG’s 3D S-Class user interface (UI) and we got to see a live video call on the LG GD910 watch phone to none other than Microsoft’s...

Hands on with the new LG Chocolate BL40!
August 18th, 2009 by Dave@LGUK
The new Black Label series handset, the LG Chocolate BL40, has been getting quite a bit of attention since its leak a few weeks ago, but now we can give you the official lowdown! LG announced the Chocolate BL40 last week in a press release:
“The initial response to the new LG Chocolate phone is exceeding our expectations by a wide margin,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications. “Although much of the interest seems focused on the striking shape of the handset, the real surprise will be when people discover the advantages of the 4.0-inch screen in...

Secret camera show
May 30th, 2008 by Dave@LGUK
Last week I gave the LG Secret's casing and features a bit of a heavy-handed look - this week it's Helen's turn, as she gets to grips with what's inside and what makes it tick. She's taken the camera and photo editing functions on the phone's camera:
A YouTube video's not the best way of showing the pictures we took, so we've provided the originals here on this blog for you to have a look at - here's the shot of Homer being rapidly pursued by his friends, alongside the negative version of it:
And here's the macro shot Helen was talking...

Style that lasts
May 23rd, 2008 by Dave@LGUK
Today Chris and I took it upon ourselves to prove that the 'Style that lasts' credo is as good as we've heard - so I filmed Chris on a Secret handset while he tried to destroy one!
Chris also gives you a short introduction, in case you were wanting to see the phone in all her glory before putting her through some fairly ungentlemanly treatment. In his defence that is most out of character!
No phones were hurt in the making of this blog post.
There will be more videos coming over the next couple of weeks, so if you liked it and...

Secret Party
May 19th, 2008 by Dave@LGUK
Last Thursday LG held a party to celebrate the imminent release of the Secret handset. The party, which our attendee classified as 'swanky', was held at Sketch in London.
Between drinks and canapés our intrepid attendee managed to get a couple of snaps of the Fashion show for us, the highlight of which was brave semi-naked girls and boys wearing body-paint and bits of phone attached to them in all the right/wrong places depending on your persuasion:
There was a showcase of the new UK TV advert - which we hope to have for you soon - and Brian Na, President,...

April 28th, 2008 by Dave@LGUK
Last Friday we had the pleasure of some of the UK's top tech and style bloggers at an exclusive event at London's May Fair Hotel to have a look at the new LG Secret. A good crowd turned up, and as well as meeting us in the flesh, they got a chance to hear from Jeremy Newing, UK head of marketing for LG Mobile.
Jeremy first went through the phone's features with a presentation, and then he fielded a really engaging Q&A with the audience, talking about the progress LG Mobile have made, LG's plans for the future, including more open...

Third LG Black Label Series phone previewed
April 7th, 2008 by Dave@LGUK
Special Monday morning treat - we've got a sneak preview of the third in the highly stylish LG Black Label series of handsets, following in the footsteps of the successful LG Chocolate and LG Shine. Like its two predecessors, the phone is a combination of cutting edge tech with brilliant design, and it will be one of the slimmest 5MP cameraphones out there. With the philosophy of "style that lasts", it's been made out of some of toughest materials around, including carbon fibre and tempered glass, to give the phone a timeless elegance.
The new phone's name is still a secret,...
