Google bring Maps 4.4 to Android

The rise and rise of Android is attributable to many factors. Things like the variety of handset choices, the openness of the apps for developers and the price in comparison to other smartphones being a big factor. For me one of my favourite things about Android is the inclusion of Google Maps as standard, including being able to use it as a sat-nav tool for free! Did you see the LG Walkers at the LG Arena Birmingham?

At the recent Britain’s Got Talent Live Tour at the LG Arena Birmingham on the 26th of June our Walkers were out in force, telling people about the new LG Optimus GT540 phone. Hands up who likes exclusives? Me too, which is great because we have the brand spanking new advert for the LG Optimus GT540 that hasn’t even aired on TV yet! The 30-second ad, the first in the UK for the Optimus, will be premiered on Tonight with Trevor McDonald on the 1st of July and uses the Wikitude World Browser augmented reality app to show off the capabilities of the Optimus handset. LG have recently undertaken a survey on Android Apps ahead of the release of their new Android phone – the LG Optimus GT540 handset. You would be forgiven for thinking that gaming or lifestyle apps were the most popular, but the results indicate that people are keenest on using apps on their Android phones as a money saving tool!
