About Us

This is the official weblog for LG in the United Kingdom.

The web has changed the way in which people communicate and interact - new means of conversation and self-expression mean that media and information are now highly devolved and diverse.

So, why are we doing this? We thought that we would either have to totally ignore this medium or fully embrace it - going half-measures would have been a waste of your and our time. So, we’re joining in the debate and giving our views on the subjects we hold dear – Technology, Innovation, Fashion, Style and Design - as well as asking for your own.

We’ll be up front, and we’ll respect the values and codes of the blogging world. This isn’t a fly-by-night product related spam push. We’re here for the long-term and willing to discuss topics with you and the wider community, so feel free to join in with your views on what we’re about. Also we’re not just here but elsewhere online - be sure to check out out on Flickr, YouTube and Twitter as well, or become a fan of us on Facebook.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns abut what we are doing then feel free to email chris@lgblog.co.uk or helen@lgblog.co.uk. You can also check out our Legal and Privacy sections to find out how we are meeting our responsibilities online.

    Hi there
I got myself a viewty phone today. now I’d like to synchrnise it with Outlook 2007 but this nice designer phone only supports Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2002, 2003.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find any Updates for lg pc suit. my version 2.0.1.15. have you got any ideas how I could solve this problem?

    Thanx a lot for answering

    Chrigi :
If you’re still looking for the info, you only have to :
    1) put your Viewty in USB Mass Storage Mode
    2) export your contacts & stuff on the phone’s memory …
    3) Link Viewty with PC, grab the interesting stuff, import them on your preferred mail client ..
    4) Export your calendar & stuff from outlook to file formats supported by LG’s … put them on the Phone
    5) On the Viewty, import the files

… can be far more simpler if your client supports OBEX sync to your phone (needs a Bluetooh dongle for that, or something … not sure if the one you mention supports it; however, Evolution, KMail, and so many other Linux clients do !!!)

    Dear all,
I want to contact directly LG Service Support (global) bypassing the local (GR) distributor.
Do you have such info (ex. email address) ?

    Thanks.

  4. Helen Says:

    Hi George,

You can find contact details for LG Service Support at http://www.lge.com/support/contact_us.jsp

Is there a developers api? I find any mac sync support lacking and may try to just write it myself. Its a shame. A great phone otherwise, but the inability to sync my phone with my mac is quite a drawback.

  6. Chris Says:

Mark - there is no developers’ API at the moment though it was a topic of discussion at the bloggers’ Q&A session about LG’s future steps in this direction.

  7. tripeak Says:

@ Mark & Chris… for such a popular phone it’s quite dissapointing that the device doesnt support iSync with Mac… I’m even struggling to connect via blootooth to my 3G - and my previous phone the SonyEricsson K800i worked like a charm with mac OS X…

Work together… get an API out…. come now! :)

  8. JaviH Says:

Good work with the blog :)

I have a question I hope you might be able to answer. I live in the U.S. and am planning on buying a KC910. I am wondering what I would need to do to if I needed warranty or repair service. I have contacted LG in the U.S. and was told they could not do anything since the phone is not released for the U.S. I would not have a problem sending the phone for repair/warranty out of the country but wonder would the warranty even be valid? Any info you could give me of this would be appreciated as this is the phone I have been waiting for! Thanks!

  10. Helen Says:

Colin, I’ll be completely honest - I haven’t a clue! I’ll ask around for you and see what the policy is on this.

    Thanks!

  11. Colin Says:

Helen, I REALLY appreciate you doing that for me!

  12. Simbo Says:

Hi, what is the memory that comes onboard or in the box with the KC910 Renoir? Everything I read says up to 8GB with SD card but nothing tells you what the basic phone contains.

    Thanks

  13. Shane Says:

    Hi,

My kc910 Renoir arrived today, and I am unable to synchronise with Outlook 2007. Will there be an update to the software or a new version available to download?

Is there a manual way of synchronising or do I have to setup another machine with Outlook 2003?

    Your help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Shane

  14. Helen Says:

Simbo, it has Internal memory of 100MB

  15. polaris Says:

    Got it

  16. Mark Says:

Hi is there any way that the music player on the KC910 can be used as an auxialiary device for a car stereo? Is it just a case of plusing a 3.5mm jack into the adapter and then into the car?
