Treat your baby like a Royal with LG’s bespoke Baby Care Wash Function

July 23rd, 2013 by LG Blog UK
Since the hot topic this week is everything ‘baby’, here’s how LG have developed a super range of washing appliances to provide the ultimate care for your family, as well as your garments. A dedicated Baby Care programme works to minimise detergent residue whilst protecting your baby from harmful bacteria by a thorough rinse repetition. By performing a ‘Medic Rinse’, which uses a high level rinse and a warm (40 degrees) rinse, residues which often contribute to skin irritation in children are dissolved and washed away. A ‘Rinse More’ cycle then repeats five times to tackle bacteria and stains. LG washing appliances...

Why You Need a Soundbar

July 8th, 2013 by LG Blog UK
Soundbars are one of the biggest growing sectors in home cinema right now, and for good reason. With TVs getting slimmer every year, their built-in speakers are becoming more and more squeezed when it comes to delivering the powerful explosions, crystal clear dialogue and overall wider soundfield we crave when we’re watching our favourite movies and TV shows. Space Not everyone has room for an extravagant 5.1 surround sound system in their lounge. The awkwardly-sized front room in a ‘cosy’ London suburb flat just wasn’t made for a multi-speaker home cinema set up, and so a soundbar makes perfect sense. Pop...

LG, in association with How to Live It, dispatched one very, very lucky winner to see The Who live in concert at the LG Arena in Birmingham. Keep your jealousy in check as superfan Aidan Naughton brings you the inside story… The last time I won anything was a pair of festival sunglasses from a sports drink maker, so receiving the email telling me I’d two tickets to see The Who was unbelievable. I haven’t attended any concert with hospitality before, although I’d been to the LG Arena a few weeks earlier to see Neil Young. Being “on the list” for a...

1080p, HD, 3D, 9.2, soundbar – what does it all mean? The world of AV is a minefield of abbreviations and technical terms. Here’s a short guide to help you understand exactly what you’re buying 1. What does “5.1 surround-sound” mean? Or “7.1″? What the heck is “9.1″? Surround sound is the way a film has its soundtrack designed. In the cinema this means dozens of speakers, but in the home it’s cheaper – and tidier – to use fewer speakers. The most common arrangement for DVD or Blu-ray movies is for the soundtrack to be mastered into a Dolby...
