LAS VEGAS, 9 January 2012 – LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, today revealed a must-have line-up for 2012 at International CES. LG unveiled the latest in next generation home entertainment products, including a 55” OLED TV, stunning CINEMA SCREEN styling and immersive 3D sound systems. These launches signal the brand’s commitment to premium design and ground-breaking technology, which is supported by further developments in Smart TV such as an enhanced platform and Smart Share 2.0 offer.

World’s Largest OLED TV
At CES today, LG announced the world’s largest OLED TV (EM9600), boasting a display size of 55”, ultra-thin depth of just 4mm and weighing only 7.5kg. The EM9600, arriving in the second half of 2012, is a glimpse of the future of TV. This impressive screen offers unrivalled picture quality with more realistic colours, brighter picture and faster display speed; incorporating the company’s 4-Colour Pixels and Colour Refiner features.



CINEMA SCREEN Design
LG’s CINEMA 3D TV series showcases the revolutionary new CINEMA SCREEN design with an ultra-thin bezel and superior display technology for a totally immersive viewing experience.



CINEMA 3D
As Sky’s first choice for 3D TVs, LG is committed to its award-winning CINEMA 3D technology and over 60 per cent of the latest range will be 3D-ready. Certification by Intertek as the world’s first ‘flicker-free’ 3D TV and better than ever 2D to 3D conversion further cements LG’s 3D TVs as the best way to bring the cinema home.



World’s Largest Ultra Definition 3D TV
LG also revealed the world’s largest 3D Ultra Definition (UD) TV, due to arrive in the second half of the year. This 84” 3D UD TV combines LG’s industry-leading 3D and Smart TV technology with Ultra Definition display, for the ultimate 3D cinema experience at home. LG’s 3D UD TV boasts superb picture quality with 8 million pixels, four times the resolution clarity (3840×2160) of existing Full HD TVs. 3D Depth Control allows users to personalise the viewing experience by controlling the 3D effect while 3D Sound Zooming provides users with 3D sound that rivals even the best home cinema systems.



Immersive 3D Sound Home Cinema
Complimenting this revolutionary TV technology is the launch of the first in four brand new home cinema systems. The BH9420TW, available in the first half, is equipped with the brand’s latest 3D sound technology complete with a 9.1 speaker system. This includes four tall boy speakers to ensure sound is emitted vertically and horizontally to create a 360º surround sound experience.



Google TV & Smart TV
LG continues to lead the way with connected entertainment in the home, expanding its award-winning offer in a global partnership with Google (planned to launch in the UK in 2013). LG’s bespoke Smart TV platform is also set to be further improved with the introduction of even more premium content services. Built-in Wi-Fi in over 70 per cent of this year’s range and a new and improved Magic Remote, which has additional Voice Recognition technology and a Browser Wheel, promises to make LG’s Smart TV easier than ever to enjoy.

LG’s improved Smart Share 2.0 is driving further innovation in connected TV by making multi-screen viewing even simpler, enabling users to access content where and when they want to. Over 50 per cent of LG’s TV line-up will feature Smart TV functionality, reflecting the brand’s continued belief in the future of the connected home.


Smart TV Upgraders
This year also sees the launch of two Smart TV Upgraders (SP520 in March and SP820 in May), offering users the opportunity to access the LG Smart TV platform from any TV with a HDMI connection.
