LG GLASSES-FREE OPTIMUS 3D KNOCKS OUT 3D CAMERAS

LG’s 3D has once again caught the attention of global consumers through its collaboration with National Geographic to showcase the world’s first 3D image gallery at this year’s IFA. After shooting, all six artists testified to LG Optimus 3D’s excellent image quality while eliminating the burden of heavy equipment and praised it to be the 3D device of choice. Justin Guariglia, one of the participating photographers, mentioned that the technology is just amazing in such a small device. Every photographer would love to have the power of a great camera in a little phone. This is clearly a step in that direction.

The key deciding factor has become the level of convenience between a 3D smartphone and a 3D digital camera, which one to choose?

1) No Need to Worry about Dizziness
If the degree of convergence is not set correctly, users may experience dizziness due to the ‘crosstalk effect’. LG has thus succeeded in preventing the ‘crosstalk effect’ through an auto convergence technology. This technology provides maximum level of depth and eliminates possible dizziness. Only LG Optimus 3D offers protection for its users of the five similar devices. Although FujiFilm’s FinePix REAL 3D W3 camera serves a similar function, it requires manual operation for every shot and thus comes with its own inconveniences and difficulties for consusers.

2) Misalignment Correction Technology
Mist, excessive heat, humidity as well as slight bumps can cause misalignment of the two cameras, resulting in negative effects on the 3D image quality.

Other 3D devices such as Sharp’s 3D smartphone, Aquos SH-12C, and FujiFilm’s 3D digital camera, FinePix REAL 3D W3, are equipped with a misalignment calibration function as it is a manual setting that needs to be adjusted for every condition. On the other hand, HTC EVO 3D and Sony’s 3D digital camera, the Mobile HD Snap Camera, applies a set factory calibration which cannot be changed after purchase.

Distinction of LG’s Optimus 3D set itself apart from 3D cameras as the only 3D device installed with a self-correcting technology on a real-time basis. It therefore provides its users with optimal 3D image quality without the hassle or inconveniences of other devices.

Image and Video Resolution
Furthermore, the LG Optimus 3D is the only 3D phone that can take 3D photos with 3.2 megapixel qualities. In comparison, the 3D resolution for HTC’s EVO 3D and Sharp’s Aquos SH-12C is only 2 megapixels. Of the devices being compared, the only one that offers better quality images and videos than the LG Optimus 3D is the 3D digital camera by FujiFilm which offers 10 megapixel resolutions both in 2D and 3D.

Display Size
The display size that influences the degree of 3D effects is a significant factor since consumers frequently enjoy their photo and video content directly on their phone screen. The LG Optimus 3D’s 4.3-inch LCD screen has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels to offer great 3D effects.

Share with a Wider Audience
Users can browse the existing 3D contents on Youtube as well as share self-created contents with a wider audience through a preloaded YouTube application based on its exclusive partnership.

Transformation between 2D and 3D
The LG Optimus 3D is the only 3D device that allows users to freely transform their 2D content into 3D, and vice versa. Users are able to switch images and videos from 2D into 3D. After comparing two recently released 3D smartphones and two 3D cameras, LG Optimus 3D’s superior qualities with exclusive 3D features makes it the clear winner. The device’s auto convergence and misalignment calibration technologies help users create high quality 3D content without the need for extra equipment. Moreover, the wide 4.3 inch display allows users to seamlessly enjoy and share their self-made 3D content.

Brian Skerry, another photographer who joined the LG-National Geographic collaboration, commented on his great experience with the LG Optimus 3D by saying, “What wowed me about the phone and the 3D experience was that the images would have been compelling in 2D but in 3D they were just better.”

All in all, 3D smartphones are more convenient than 3D digital cameras thanks to the ‘mobility’ features, such as sharing capability and instant web-access. The LG Optimus 3D is considered to be the most optimal 3D device that provides incomparable convenience and cutting edge 3D features.

    take that, HTC! seems like the Optimus 3D is going to be a sure hit. I can’t wait to test it for myself. looks like this will be the replacement for my Blackberry Bold (I know, it should have been replaced a long time ago… But I haven’t seen any smartphones this cool until now).

    I bought a brand new 55LCD @ HHGREGG on 5/18/2011 and I spent over $2,596,99 for this beautiful 55″ TV that has all the bells and whistles to find out that 5 months later the screen was going to go GREEN with no picture and all i can do is wait for a tech so they can order parts! I bought the extended 5 year warranty FOR $500.00 thinking I was enssured and this is THE CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY GIVE US!  IF YOU’RE SMART YOU WOULD NOT PURCHASE LG OR GO TO HHGREGG FOR ANYTHING!!!

    i’ve been waiting for android 2.3 for 3 months now.today out of frustration i tried to flash it with a leak ROM and almost brick it.for goodness sake release the update and stuff like this wont happen.what’s taking you long to update your product?i got rid of my windows mobile bec of update issue and decided to buy LG believing Life is Good after all.now i’m in the situation, like many others,contemplating whether or not to return this phone.pls dont make us lose our faith on you and live with your motto…Life is Good

    do not buy this phone it is the most buggy phone i have ever had and now i am stuck with it for 1 and a half years i regret buying it.

    This is a great phone, not anywhere near as buggy as some people claim. The 3D is awesome in stills and video; 3D gaming is not so important to me, but it does look good. The phone is quick and LG haven’t put too much “bloatware” on the phone, only some nice 3D stuff to support the phone’s USP and a handful of other bits. The v10K firmware update added the 3D game renderer for OpenGL games like Angry Birds (looks great in 3D) and seems to have speeded things up a bit more.

    Only downside is battery life not the best, but then this is an issue for most high-spec smartphones.

I think it is disrespectful to us, theircustomers, that they are not coming out to actually explain why thereis a delay. This is the last lg product I will ever buy, my brother inlawwarned me. I should have listened to him.

    LG mobile phones are the best for me after upgrading the text messaging. It can copy paste text for fast typing and also the multimedia is enhanced to its newer version.
