Introducing LG’s Cinema 3D Monitors

April 27th, 2011 by Dave@LGUK

We’ve been talking a lot about Cinema 3D™ TV on the blog recently, as this is where we believe the future of 3D lies. Well we have now added to our Cinema 3D range with the release of two Cinema 3D Monitors – the D41P and D42P.

Equipped with our Film Patterned Retarder technology (FPR), the monitors offer a brighter display, clearer images, and a certified “Flicker-Free” 3D picture resulting in a comfortable 3D experience. Awarded the “Flicker-Free” certification from TÜV and Intertek, two of Europe’s top safety certification agencies, recognizing that our Cinema 3D™  monitors are largely flicker-free, something that can occasionally cause dizziness and nausea among viewers watching conventional 3D displays.

Comfort is naturally paramount to a pleasant viewing experience and thanks to the FPR technology used the monitors provide clearer, brighter 3D images and lower crosstalk, meaning less eyestrain. In contrast with conventional active shutter glasses, our Cinema 3D™ glasses are lightweight and entirely free from electrical parts, so the glasses are lighter and never need to be recharged.

In terms of compatibility, the monitors work with all graphic cards and are compatible with popular home PC operating systems. They also support HDMI 1.4 making it easy to link your monitor to your other 3D devices. If that wasn’t enough there is also a 2D to 3D conversion function to convert regular content into 3D.

The LG Cinema 3D™ monitors will hit the UK in early June.

Great stuff is the screen matte finish? Like the LG W2363D? Also are these in effect the successor to the LG W2363D?
Id rather that than glossy which shows more reflections.

have contacted the team to see if they are matte or gloss finish
    thanks

    Can you confirm if the
monitor’s are 120HZ like the LG2363D? Also the first monitor does not have 3D
support in the chart above. Does this mean 3D glasses are not
    supplied?
