The 47WV30 monitor display at ISE 2011

The beginning of each year is the time when there are a lot of big technology shows in the calendar as the big brands show off their products and innovations for the year ahead. At CES LG showed their commitment to Smart TV, taking home an innovation award in the process (link), whilst at MWC LG grabbed a lot of headlines with the LG Optimus 3D (link) and the LG Optimus Pad (link) amongst other products. Well LG also grabbed plenty of column inches at ISE with their 47WV30 video wall!

ISE is an annual event taking place in Amsterdam in early February and is Europe’s premier show for professional AV and electronic systems. On the LG stand the team were proudly showing off the 47WV30 – a 47inch monitor designed for use as video walls. By combining several 47WV30 monitors you are able to create a huge and almost seamless image thanks to the 6.9mm bezel on the 47WV30 – the smallest on any 40-49 inch display available.

In a field where picture quality is of the essence, the 47WV30 leads the way, opting for LED BLU over the industry standard LCD, providing superior quality in terms of both energy savings and picture quality. Additionally a special “shine-out-film” has been added to the screen to ensure clear and bright images outdoors, even in brightness up to 4,000 lux, making it ideal for use in shopping centers and building lobbies as well as outdoor spaces. Combine this with a depth of just 92mm and you have the ideal screen to support your business and wow your customers at the same time.

I wish LG would release something like this for the home – I (and many others) would like a reduced price 47″ or larger Nano LED monitor without all this pointless and expensive 3D capability and not-so-”Smart TV” gibberish (I’ve already got a much cleverer PC). Doesn’t even need Freeview as having Sky, I never watch it. To be honest, I don’t even care how thin the chassis or the bezel is – 99% of what matters is the picture quality. I only look at my TV from the front, in the dark, when it’s switched on! Please LG, just make me a great TV…

    Hi,
if you are looking for a TV without Smart capabilities and are not sold by anything other than great picture quality, then you could check some of our lower spec televisions.
    thanks
