LG TO UNVEIL WORLD’S FIRST FULL 3D SMARTPHONE AT MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS 2011
February 1st, 2011 by Dave@LGUK
Yesterday we discussed the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, including a few predicted trends. The one thing we did not predict however was the announcement that landed on our desks this morning!
We’d heard the rumours, but nothing official until this morning – LG are indeed going to be releasing the world’s first full 3D smartphone at Mobile World Congress 2011, taking place in Barcelona later this month.
You’d be forgiven for questioning how much 3D content is available for smartphones currently. Thankfully LG have addressed this lack of content – one plaguing the 3D market generally – by equipping the Optimus 3D with a dual-lens camera for 3D recording, a glasses-free LCD display for viewing 3D content and diverse connectivity including HDMI and DLNA for content sharing.
Further details and a live demo of the LG Optimus 3D will be offered at Booth #8B178 at MWC in Barcelona from February 14-17. Alternatively we will be keeping you up to date with all the news from MWC as it breaks at the blog.
