A new dimension of home entertainment technology on show at IFA 2010

Today LG launched their extensive home entertainment range for the second half of the year, including an innovative new range of 3D plasma TVs and home cinema systems. This news comes hot on the heels of the announcement of the partnership between Sky and LG, whereby Sky recognise LG as its first choice for 3D TVs.

LG are showcasing a breadth of 3D home entertainment products at this year’s IFA, adding to their already extensive 3D line-up. The range will now include 3D offerings across LCD, LED, Full LED and Plasma – with both passive and active offerings available alongside compatible Blu-ray home cinema systems, available from October 2010 onwards.

LG’s first 3D Plasma TV is the PX990 that uses active 3D technology, and is unique in the fact that it is the first 3D plasma TV in the world to receive 3D THX certification: guaranteeing the ultimate cinema experience in the home with extra smooth motion for action-orientated content and vivid colours. The PX9900 is also the first LG 3D TV to offer 2D to 3D conversion combined with 600hz technology to give you the smoothest picture available in both 2D and 3D. LG are also complimenting their first 3D compatible Blu-ray, the BX580, with two new 3D home cinema systems – the HLX55W and the HX995TZ. Both will be launched at IFA alongside the 3D TV range to ensure that consumers can find an option to suit their sound preferences.

New LED and LCD TV ranges – LE4900 and LD490 – featuring built-in Freeview HD supports LG’s commitment to offering consumers easy access to high definition content, with over half of LG’s TV line-up for 2010 boasting built-in Freeview HD. Both of these models will be available to consumers at an accessible price point, ensuring that there’s even more choice to suit every budget.

Excitingly LG are unveiling another two televisions later this year including a huge 180-inch plasma 3D prototype and a new 31” OLED TV screen, both of which promise great things for the future at LG.
