The Lord of the Rings Party – Our Third Home Entertainment Hero Winner

I’m sure we all know someone who boasts of having watched all three Lord of the Rings films back to back. They are great films, but that’s over 9 hours spent sat on the sofa and I just don’t have the patience.

So massive respect to Sophie Read and friends who not only watched the full extended trilogy, but also did so dressed up as characters from the film. That’s 9 hours spent dressed like Gandalf for one poor chap! But Sophie has been rewarded for her dedication by being named the August winner for our Home Entertainment Hero competition and has walked away with a brand new home cinema kit to help with the next film marathon.

The Home Entertainment Hero competition rewards those of you out there who go that little bit further to prove your dedication to the art of hosting a party. This could be by building a football stadium in your own back garden like the June winner or holding a Blair Witch Project film party like our winner from July. We felt Sophie perfectly summed up the art of a great host by throwing the Lord of the Rings film party as a surprise for her boyfriend’s birthday, and even went so far as to cook the meals the intrepid hobbits enjoy in the film.     Great contest with a great prize! Saw one of these 3D TVs a couple of months back and I thought they'd be a gimmick and not very good. I was sooooooo wrong the 3D experience is just amazing, and I wanted one instantly. As soon as the 3D BluRays start to come out I'll be ordering. Wish I'd seen this contest before this evening, How many more months is it running for?

    You're right Oly, Sophie's entry was the best last month and the previous entries were great too. Didn't realise I'd had to cross my eyes to watch the 3D one 'till a mate told me!

    Mmmm, shame, looks like a couple of the top voted entries this month that are fake though. That Simpson Family pic has been floating round the web for years http://www.bbc.co.uk/northamptonshire/content/image_galleries/your_photos_1_gallery.shtml and so has the Bat Dog and where's the rubber bats and converted bat cave pics???

    Don't wish to rain on anyones parade but aint that cheetin????
