LG Application Store – coming soon to the UK
July 9th, 2010 by joeOThe newly revamped LG App store is currently available across Asia and Australia, but the good news is that the LG applications store is coming soon!
The app store opened with 1400 apps covering everything from games to education, finance to travel, with the number having risen steadily since the app store launch. LG UK customers will soon have access to apps including The Sims 3, Worms 2010 and of course Solitaire. For the more practical minded of you there are also cooking apps, language translators and visitor guides to numerous cities internationally amongst a whole host of other great apps.
Owners of LG’s latest phone, the Optimus GT540, already have access to a huge range of apps courtesy of the Android Market, home to over 85,000 apps as of July 5th this year. This number has risen dramatically as Android has become a serious competitor to the Blackberry and the iPhone, even outselling the iPhone in the US in the last quarter.
LG are fully supporting Android and later this year are releasing more Android handsets including an Android 2.2 and even an Android powered tablet that will offer vastly superior performance in comparison to other devices currently on the market while still managing to be thinner and lighter than competing devices.
