A few weeks ago we told you about LG’s latest fridge freezer – the GB7143A2PW1. With one of the largest capacities for a fridge-freezer on the market and a whole host of excellent features designed to help your food stay fresher free for longer meaning you can spend less time in the supermarket and more time doing the things you really love!

A product that takes the desperation out of housewives lives deserves a desperate housewife to help with the launch and thankfully that’s just what they had. Eva Longoria was there with her NBA star husband Tony Parker to launch the release of the GB7143A2PW1 in Madrid. Eva declared that the new LG new combi fridge fitted her life perfectly: “For my husband and I, it’s key to maintain a healthy diet, something that this refrigerator guarantees, as it helps food retain vitamins and nutrients for longer.”

It is all very well Celebrities endorsing LG's appliances but frankly it is time for people to know how average they are.

Nearly two years ago my wife and I purchased 3 LG products. A fridge freezer, a washing machine and a dryer. Initially the products were fine but then things started to go wrong.

The Fridge Freezer 's ice compartment went wrong and then it sprung a leak. Two call outs eventually solved the problems.

The driers drive belt went - after only 14 month of use !. Another call out.

Then the washing machine went wrong - the door seal broke and we had to get a new one. We did. However when it was fitted the LG engineer said - " you will have to keep an eye on this" as the new seal seemed remarkably prone to coming away from the door.

Sure enough it broke again - and then our problems really began. We rung LG - a tortuous process as despite our numerous problems there seemed to be no record of us - so we had to re enter our information ( where we bought the machine etc). They said it was going to be sorted.
A few days later, the repair company rang us to confirm what was needed and then tell us that we would have to pay for the new part as LG had told them it was caused by "customer misuse".So back on the phone to LG to sort out the fact that this was not caused by use but by a faulty part - more of later. We were then several days without a washing machine. Frustrated by the process - i posted on this blog - and got a response telling me that my issue was being passed to LG. Eventually after much chasing and heartache - LG fixed the problem two weeks after we reported it. When the fixed it - they discovered that the previous engineer had not fitted the seal properly ! Equally they then left the old part and packaging lying on the floor.....still not heard back from LG.
So my advice, do not buy an LG appliance they are unreliable - 3 machines going wrong is unusual - and their support service is poor.
