“For a driver to be fast he needs to be comfortable in the cockpit”

In LG’s latest F1 video James Allen caught up with Scott Bain from Mclaren to learn all about his job as design engineer, ensuring the driver is comfortable within the ergonomics of the cockpit at all times. Scott is responsible for the space from the back of the seat, down to the pedal base, meaning Scott is responsible for anything the driver physically comes into contact with – be it the seat or steering wheel, even down to the suit, helmet and undergarments worn by the drivers.

The cameras were also privileged enough to sit in as Scott worked with Lewis Hamilton in a mock chassis, ensuring that when he goes out to race he is as comfortable as possible, ensuring minimal distractions from the race.
