Hands on with the LG Cookie Fresh

The LG Cookie KP500 phone was a huge success, selling over 10 million units worldwide. The secret to its success was in its simple yet effective design, targeting the entry-level touchscreen market by keeping the cost down without forfeiting any features. Good news for all fans of the Cookie is that it will soon have not just one little brother but two; the Cookie Plus and the Cookie Fresh.

The new LG Cookie Fresh will take the basic ideals of the first Cookie and push this forward into a new handset. And luckily for me I have got my hands on one today! For a 3inch full touchscreen phone it is surprisingly slim and light. The touchscreen is responsive without being overly sensitive and the home screen is easy to personalize with your most used or favourite icons.

My favourite thing about the Cookie Fresh is it’s dedicated social networking tools, allowing users to keep track of their friends on Facebook, twitter or Myspace. Instead of using a conventional WAP link the Cookie Fresh uses a dedicated client connection, meaning that you don’t have to log into your social media sites every time you want to view your notifications.
