LG unveil the GD880i Mini with Mobile World Congress

The emergence of touchscreen technology as a staple in phone design has had both positive and negative consequences. The positive is obvious; touchscreen adds a new depth of interactivity for the consumer as well as a whole host of other features that just wouldn’t work without touchscreen. The negative is also obvious, glaringly so. It’s that brick on your desk, the big bulge in the back pocket of your jeans. Yes, it is the increase in size I’m talking about.
This is why LG have unveiled the visually stunning GD880i at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The fittingly named ‘Mini’ has come about as a direct result of consumers complaining about the size of current touchscreen technology. It is just 10.6 mm in depth and weighs in at a featherweight 99 grams yet still has a 3.2 inch full touchscreen display. A shrinking in size does not equate to less features though, with the mini still coming with a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, A-GPS and 7.2Mbps HDSPA as standard.
The innovation doesn’t end with the size though. For the Mini also has 3 way wireless synching, allowing users to backup the data on their phones to their PCs and LG’s own server via a wireless network thanks to LG’s Air Sync.
The LG GD880i Mini is released in Europe in March
