Last week I wrote a brief introduction to the GW620 and promised to tell you more having spent the weekend testing it out. Never one to break a promise, here is my feedback having spent some time playing with just a fraction of the many apps available from the android market place.

If I were to pick a favourite app it would definitely be the ‘Family Guy Soundboard’. If my flatmate were to pick a least favourite app, it would undoubtedly be the ‘Family Guy Soundboard’. As a big Family Guy fan, getting catchphrases and soundbites from the show in the palm of my hand was a real treat. Such a treat in fact I vowed not to speak for an hour and let the soundboard answer any questions or comments thrown my way. Thusly when my flatmate asked me “would you like sugar in your tea?” the voice of Stewie Griffin retorted “who the hell do you think you are?” Retrospectively, I can see why he poured my tea down the sink.

The android app store is certainly not short of selection either, as I also downloaded a magic 8 ball, the dangerously addictive ‘Bubble wrap game’ and even Shazam (which comfortably recognised the relatively obscure Amalyse by Cajun Dance Party). All of the apps I have mentioned were downloaded free of charge, and they aren’t alone with over 20,000 apps listed on the site which can be easily accessed directly from a shortcut in the menu screen of the GW620.
