Enjoy HDTV, gaming and multimedia content with the M2362D monitor

February 24th, 2010 by LG Blog UKLG Blog UK

A recent study by Brand Republic showed that one in seven 18-24 year olds watch no live television. This is not surprising considering that TV on demand is so readily available. On demand TV is referred to as ‘lean forward TV’ in marketing, as when sat at a computer you naturally lean forwards, where as conventional TV watching is referred to as ‘lean back TV’ as, rather obviously, it is viewed as a more relaxing pastime.   Watching TV is meant to be a relaxing past time, but leaning forward hunched over a 13inch monitor watching the latest episode of Eastenders seems...

Combat social networking withdrawals with the GW620 InTouch Max

February 22nd, 2010 by LG Blog UKLG Blog UK

Browsing facebook at work is understandably frowned upon under normal circumstances, but not today, for I have a legitimate reason for keeping up to date with social networking on work’s time. The GW620 is packed full of features to enable social networking on the go and I selflessly jumped at the chance to spend some time testing them out.   First on the agenda was Linkbook, which allows quick and direct access to your friends’ facebook pages via your contact list. Adding a facebook link to a contact is incredibly simple, just click a link on the contacts screen that directs you...

Invisible speakers result in seamless design

February 19th, 2010 by LG Blog UKLG Blog UK

Advances in LCD and Plasma display technology have enabled manufacturers to build TVs and other consumer electronics that deliver superior picture quality from a thin, sleek enclosure. Unfortunately, the demand for smaller, more attractive technology has reduced manufacturers to squeezing tiny versions of speakers into a strip along the bottom or on the back so they don’t take up significant space. As a result, the audio quality has declined substantially in newer TVs and other display products Subsequently as of 2009 all of LG’s plasma and LCD HDTV’s have been fitted with an invisible speaker system. Instead of traditional TV speakers that sit...

LG unveil the GD880i Mini with Mobile World Congress

February 17th, 2010 by LG Blog UKLG Blog UK

The emergence of touchscreen technology as a staple in phone design has had both positive and negative consequences. The positive is obvious; touchscreen adds a new depth of interactivity for the consumer as well as a whole host of other features that just wouldn’t work without touchscreen. The negative is also obvious, glaringly so. It’s that brick on your desk, the big bulge in the back pocket of your jeans. Yes, it is the increase in size I’m talking about. This is why LG have unveiled the visually stunning GD880i at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The fittingly named ‘Mini’...
