First impressions of the LG GW620 Android phone
January 29th, 2010 by Dave@LGUK
Today I finally got my hands on an LG GW620 and was so busy playing with it I almost forgot to tell you about it!
My first impressions are positive. It looks good without being overly flashy subjecting you to unwanted attention from undesirables. It’s well designed ergonomically, fitting nicely in your hand, as well as having a bit of weight to it reminding you it is a serious piece of technology. The phone was simple to use, with logical navigational menus allowing first time users not to feel overwhelmed by the wealth of features. Admittedly it took me a little while to get used to the UI, but once you do it’s a piece of cupcake (sorry, bad tech joke referring to it’s use of Android 1.5, known as cupcake).
The first thing I did with it was obviously head straight for the android app store where I was immediately drawn to the ‘Pick up lines’ app. Considering I’m new to android I found it simple enough to access and download apps. I can’t comment on the success of the app yet, but I will be sure to give full feedback after the weekend when I can test out a few lines. Oh, and I will be sure to tell you some more about the phone too…
