Couch to couch Skype calling on LG TVs
January 10th, 2010 by Dave@LGUKOver 50% of LG’s 2010 TV line up will be broadband ready and able to connect to the home’s internet service. With this technology, you can connect your TV and home modem – either wired (Ethernet cable) or wireless with a USB Dongle – and access applications like YouTube and Skype directly through your TV. LG has included Skype exclusively within its broadband TV service as a direct result of doing research into how people want to use their TVs.
As most of you know, internet to internet calls over Skype are free, so you can now call your mates in Australia and see them in High Definition! Joy!
Currently a webcam and microphone have to be bought separately.
