The LG Blog’s Christmas Message
December 23rd, 2009 by joeOMerry Christmas Everybody!
It’s been a brilliant 2009 for LG and it seems an apt time to look back at some of the highlights from this year!
We started the year on a high, winning the CES Innovations Award for the LH9500 LCD HDTV.
In February, we welcomed Marc from Coolest Gadgets to be our man on the scene covering MWC in Barcelona. It was the official launch of the Arena KM900, our first phone to include LG’s 3D S-Class user interface (UI) and we got to see a live video call on the LG GD910 watch phone to none other than Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer.
In March, we were ecstatic to be awarded 2 awards at the 15th annual Mobile News Awards for Best Manufacturer and Most Innovative Product. There were more awards to follow as we won 4 EISA Awards in August, including the Green Mobile Phone Award for the Arena KM900.
In April-May, we showcased a range of products at Grand Designs Live, Ideal Home Show and The Gadget Show, before launching three new TVs in September at IFA 2009 in Berlin. These TVs feature LG’s Seamless design and are supported by our current TV advert which you can watch here or on our YouTube channel at any time.
Also in September, LG made its fifth appearance at London Fashion Week as its official consumer electronics provider. We enlisted the help of Fashion blogger Miggy, who documented the shows with the latest phone in our Black Label Series, the Chocolate BL40, which was launched at a very stylish event at the Design Museum.
It’s been a busy few months towards the end of the year, with blogger events and launches galore. We had an amazing time at London Freeze and the Avatar World Premiere, and a lovely time at Adam Street discussing the latest handsets, including the Pop GD510, GD910 watch phone, GW520, GM750 Windows Phone, Chocolate BL20 and eagerly awaited GW620, LG’s first Android Phone.
We are excited to reveal our plans for next year, including more from the Android Phone and 3DTV, but have to remain tight-lipped for the timebeing I’m afraid!
In the meantime, we will be enjoying the festive period and probably indulging in one too many mince pies and Quality Streets! Check out this cool yuletide Twitter visualiser to see what others are saying about Christmas this year.
Thanks for all of your continued support and feedback this year and we look forward to seeing you in 2010.
