British costcutters say no to restaurants but yes to new mobiles!

Last week the BBC announced the results of an Ofcom review which suggests that we Brits are more willing to tighten the purse strings on our holidays and meals out than on spending on communication technology!

The watchdog’s annual report says spending on mobiles, the internet and TV is regarded as a higher priority than almost anything except food.

In a poll of 862 people, over 40% said they would save on holidays and eating out and 19% chose spending on mobiles.

Interesting – and good for us! But I wonder what the motivation is, perhaps it’s the conveniences our technology affords us; for me, the ability to work on the move and therefore free up more time for other things is worth a hundred dinners!
