THE LG 42LF7700 FreeSat TV gets our bloggers approval

June 17th, 2009 by LG Blog UK

A couple of our bloggers were able to get their mitts on the new LG LF7700 LCD with built-in FreeSat, I thought I'd take a look at their findings.. RegHardware gave it a stand up 80%: The moment you switch over to BBC HD, everything seems to snap into focus – colours are bolder and the increased level of detail is immediately obvious. Alex Kingston’s frizzy hairdo in HD really is a sight to behold. The real test was to fire up some high-definition Blu-Ray and HD DVD films. The results here were extremely good – colours were bright and vivid, but...

Yes, It’s a Leather Plaster

June 17th, 2009 by agenda21

You know me, I appreciate the finer things in life - I drive home in my Maybach 62, I open a bottle of Chateau Mouton-Rothschild Jeroboam, and start to sharpen my Global knife to cut into my kobe beef ... OUCH! When you're a super-rich international jet-setter like myself* and you happen to cut your finger, you know that those cheap and nasty shop-bought plasters just won't do. So thank heavens for Amron Expirmental's Leather Band-Aid, which cost $15 a pop. The only way to dress a wound! * Massive...

Cryptozoo: Bringing weird wildlife to the streets

June 16th, 2009 by LG Blog UK

Cryptozoo is a "secret world of strange and fast-moving creatures", it is also a social networking and real-world game designed by Jane McGonigal for the American Heart Association. The game is part of an AHA initiative in collaboration with the Institute for the Future to "re-invent physical activity with the help of online games and social media". CryptoZoo is about inventing the future of physical activity, about making play and gaming a bigger part of how we take care of ourselves. CrytpoZoo is a proof-of-concept game, a way for us to show what physical activity could (and we think, should) be like...

Andy Goldsworthy

June 16th, 2009 by LG Blog UK

I've been a big fan of Andy Goldsworthy's sculpture for many years, and have recently rediscovered his brilliance. Goldsworthy is a British artist whose collaborations with nature produce uniquely personal and intense artworks. Using a seemingly endless range of natural materials—snow, ice, leaves, bark, rock, clay, stones, feathers petals, twigs—he creates outdoor sculpture that manifests a sympathetic contact with the natural world. Before they disappear, or as they disappear, Goldsworthy records his work in photographs. Goldsworthy deliberately explores the tension of working in the area where he finds his materials, and is undeterred by changes by changes in the weather which may...

Life’s Good – find you’re happiest day with a little help from LG

June 12th, 2009 by LG Blog UK

Now, unless you've never seen an advert ever, you're probably familiar with LG’s chipper ‘Life’s Good' outlook. Well, they've decided to spread the good cheer through Facebook and have developed a cool Facebook application using their ‘Life’s Good formula’ that will pinpoint your personal happiest day of the year. Take the test to find out your happy day - curiously mine is exactly a month after my birthday but I guess that kind of makes sense; I've had time for my new age to sink in but the thrill of all my brand new toys/clothes/gift-cards has yet to wear off! - ...

LG Arena KM900 – More reviews from around the web

June 11th, 2009 by LG Blog UK

When we last looked, back in April, there were a fair few fans of the LG Arena (KM900) on our blog roll - Gaj-It, GadgetLite and ShinyShiny were all impressed, but some of our fellow bloggers weren't quite ready to commit themselves on a phone which hadn't hit the shelves, so lets check in with them now they've had time to really put it through its paces! Coolest-Gadgets UK considered verdict matched up fairly well to his pleased first impressions and showed the phone is as hardy as the Secret: The Arena’s been in my pocket with no cover or screen protector...
