Space Colony Art from the 1970s

A couple of space colony summer studies were conducted at NASA Ames in the 1970s. Colonies housing about 10,000 people were designed. Happy Darwin Day!

Today, February 12 2009, is the 200th anniversary of the birth of evolutionary biologist Charles Darwin. According to the Darwin Day Celebration site there are 664 events taking place in 44 countries for Darwin Day 2009! There is also a nice optical illusion on Richard Wiseman's blog: The picture below shows two monkeys. Set your computer monitor to maximum brightness and then stare at the centre of the picture for about 30 seconds without moving your eyes. Next, look to a white wall and blink a few times.
