Sticking close to the highly successful design of the original, the new Prada phone has a hidden secret. An ultra-thin keyboard slides from under the handset.

The original Prada phone made history as the first full touch-screen phone to reach the market. With all the characteristics of the most digitally enhanced phones it was also a powerful aesthetic pioneer and was hugely popular with over 1 million handsets sold.

The unique QWERTY keyboard available with the new telephone is designed for maximum ease of use. The metallic silver keyboard compliments the slick aesthetic and with the additional on-screen, call and hang-up buttons gives fresh tactility to the original phone’s minimal design.

Other new/improved features include 3G compatibility with video calling, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, a 5 mega pixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens, full HTML browser and Wi-Fi accessibility.
The handset will be available with a starting price of 600 Euros though major mobile dealerships in Italy, UK, France, Germany, Spain and Netherlands before Christmas - maybe you should get writing to Santa now..?

i think i’m in love.
the only thing i wonder is has the touch screen got better since the first prada phone? i ended up sending back the 1st prada because the touch screen was terrible to use.
it’s going to be a tough call between the iphone and this. but i think the iphone might win because of apps.
ps. i chucked my secret against the wall in frustration (at something else) today and it emerged unscathed. i know that’s not recommended practice, but i was relieved and impressed… in that order

It’s a beauty isn’t it? I don’t have any specifics about the touch screen yet but I’ll keep you posted!
And chucking your secret at walls… Is the wall ok?

This looks like a stunning phone- something I’d be proud to pull out at a pub! The keyboard looks really easy to use too which is my general biff with smartphones.

when and where can I buy this phone?!
are they in O2,Orange etc???
November 20th, 2008 at 3:14 am
i love this phoen, but i wonder why they didn’t change the phone case and provide the stylus pen. I mean the phone case isn’t that great because it makes scratches and stylus pen is very convenient. Well, still this phone is so adorable.

wonderful phone but the problem in 3 hours talk time !!!!
November 20th, 2008 at 10:51 am
It’s interesting that you miss a stylus pen Hk - a lot of people weren’t keen on the stylus which came with the Viewty, which is possibly why there isn’t on on the newest touchscreen handsets.. Thanks for the feedback though - I’ll pass it on!

Pristyles - I managed to have a play with a handset at the Launch event on Tuesday (while feeling slightly under dressed in the Bond St Prada store..!) The touch screen & UI are great, very responsive and intuitive, to me anyway - it’s always a subjective area, isn’t it?
Khaled - I don’t think I ever use my phone to talk for more than an hour a day. I bow to your superior talking abilities (or possibly popularity…)

Let’s see if LG cant get it’s Mobile Sync connectivity software problems sorted out. The availability of said software, or updates, is shocking with multiple dead links around the world. I have a the KE850, and in moving house, and subsequently having a laptop stolen, I have been unable to locate suitable software to copy SMS messages to my PC for storage for past 2 days.
I also the hope the case is better made. The word PRADA wore off my phone altogether after 4 months. The rest of the it is covered in tiny scratches. The rim of the phone is unfortunately a very cheap plastic, with thin silver paint on.
Hope this is all improved in Prada 2

Wow i love it! I have the first prada phone and can’t stand the keypad you have to use to type things out. I love the idea of the pull-out keyboard. In responese to tonez, the prada emblem is also fading very quickly, so perhaps that’s something else to work on. When is this coming out in the US?
November 24th, 2008 at 11:03 am
Jennifer & Loretta,
It’s available in good shops & is not tied to a specific network
December 5th, 2008 at 5:21 am
Any idea if and when the phone may be available in Australia, on what network/s and at what price?
December 6th, 2008 at 5:40 am
Please reduce the price
December 6th, 2008 at 5:04 pm
Wow I llike this phone but will like to know when will it be available and how much will it cost?
December 7th, 2008 at 7:29 pm
I like the first Prada phone but this one is really better, the first one didn’t do exactly what i thought it would do, so if i end up selling the first one to buy the second one i sure hope it would be worth it. And when can I expect it to come to California, USA?
December 8th, 2008 at 9:09 am
If & when will it be coming to the USA? What carrier is slated to receive it?
December 8th, 2008 at 11:52 am

It’s impossible to find any information on the Link in particular in the UK. There is all this internet info saying both the watch and the phone are out here now, but to date I’ve been into 3 Phones 4 U stores trying to find out about the Link, and they have no idea what I’m talking about either telling me the phone does have bluetooth or trying to sell me a digital photo frame?? It’s getting very frustrating, very quickly . . .

It’s proving impossible, and increasingly frustrating, to get information on the Link in particular here in the UK. To date I’ve been into 3 Phones 4 U stores where they either don’t know what I’m talking about with the Link or try to sell me a digital photo frame along with the Prada 2. . . I just don’t see the point of promoting the two products together and then making one impossible to find, especially when people are enthusiatic about them and want to buy both!!
December 13th, 2008 at 10:49 pm
hi, i have the prada 2, it is amazing, i totally love it, the qwerty keypad is sooo cute, but how do i download games onto it????
December 15th, 2008 at 7:01 pm
