I've got my lg now for 1 year i had it fixed because the screen kept telling me insert usim while i already did. That was fixed then but the problem started again so i cant use my lg and the garantee is expired any suggestion??

okay, so my keypad has been acting up lately. One of the two little ones at the top. (the left one) wont work. and i need that one the most for when it comes to things like 'options" its really annoying becasuse i cant delete any texts or set pics as wallpapers. or pretty much use any of my options that come with this key. All the other keys work.
Plus, sometime it just "presses" keys on it own? :S

worst phone you could ever buy reasons are;

- the battery life is rubbish
- camera is worse than the first ever camera phones
- the pc suit doesnt even work right
- and the most annoying thing is it doesnt recieve calls or texts most of the time and you have turn your phone off for 5mins till you know you have got them but how are you ment to know you have a text waiting for you if you have no notice of this and plus it aint the service because i have tried a orange a O2 and a t-mobile sim in mine and my friend has a vodafone one his has the same problem

lg are the worst mobile phone company for trying to get this phone sorted they dont even understand the meaning of customer service so never buy a lg ever because if you have problems your on your own they wont fix it they aint intrested after you have bought the phone or is it just they dont know what they are doing and dont know how to repair a fault they have so they just try and hide and hope it will all blow over

lg ks360 is not recognised by pc suite have tried everything but nothing works,waiting for callback from lg.

I have put the photos off of my handset onto my computer, now after doing this some of my photos went missing and others started going funny like they were tiled pics like an error pic.
Now when i send the pics to other phones this does not happen so i no its a fault with the phone.

i've already posted on this blog about the poor battery life and problems with the PC suite.

Now coming to realise the quality of pictures for a 5 megapixel camera is embarrasing. A lot of ma friends have got brand new fones and the picture quality is stunning on theirs. I had a 3.2 megapixel sony ericsson cybershot and picture quality was 10 times better without question. Video quality is, however, excellent, but I would say Its more important for me to have a good picture than a vid. I've mucked about with the settings but was very annoyed when my friend who had the lg viewty (an older model) showed me the quality of his pictures and as much as I try to alter the settings, cant get a picture anywhere near the quality of the viewty. (Pictures blur, cant seem to lock on to an image, light quality is a bit poor also)

The LG secret is becoming a complete mess of a phone and every day there are new things that annoy me about it. Games and touch media are fun, but are just gimmics.

The practical aspects of this phone are not ideal and compared to the viewty, the touch screen/control buttons are a lot more unresponsive. Think I'm going to have to speak to my service provider to exchange this phone for another model.

Sorry guys, big let down, but in fairness to LG, there are other phones like the renoir and the viewty that are 10 times better. I'd go with them

I'm using my LG Secret as a business phone, syncing my calendar with Outlook. My challenge with the phone is that I often have reminder alarm on my calendar entries in Outlook - these are copied to the phone.

Reminders are fine, but I want to turn the audible bell off - being woken up in the middle of the night is really irritating. There is no setting for this, and the used bell (alarm.mp3) is a build-in file which I cannot delete from the memory.

Any help to turn audible bell for reminders off will be greatly appreciated.

My LG Renoir will not connect to my computer!!!

I installed the PCSuite II but it would not connect. I then removed the application and my computer does not even recognise that the phone is plugged in through the USB port?

All this and the phone is charging when connected. Why won't PC Suite or my computer recognise the phone? Please help

Got the LG Secret for ma xmas

Impressed with the phone however one or two things are annoying me about it.

1) as has already been mentioned, the battery life is poor and it doesnt give you any warning when its about to pack in.

2) problems with the PC suite adding music, pictures etc, however I bought a memory card for it so I can transfer all my files that way so its not a major issue.

The issue with the battery is quite annoying. I had a sony ericsson k800i cybershot before this phone and it's probably one of the worst phones i've ever used, however I am currently getting the same amount of battery time on the secret as I was from a 2 year old Sony erricsson battery.

Not too impressive. I've tried all the things suggested like turning the backlight on to auto brightness but that doesnt make a difference at all.

Touch media is good fun however and the music player and sound from the phone is excellent.

ditto with the receiving texts problems! Very, very annoying and really needs sorting asap! Please can I be informed of anything that might help with this problem.

I have the receiving texts problem and my phone is unlocked. I can use it with any network so i have try it with O2, Vodafone, Tmobile and Orange but with all these networks i have had problem with them all, i have also contacted O2 to see if there are ansettings dat i may need to change but that didnt work either. So it must be a problem with the phone not the network what am i to do now?

So... i just recieved my lg secret about 2 days ago, and i had been anticipating this phone for over 2 months, so i was very excited when i got it. However, their seems to be a problem, my lg secret will not turn on when i try to open it, or at least will not coorperate. it takes me a long time trying to turn it on ( i think there is a problem with the battery) and samething when i charge it, unless it is already turned, the charger would not recognize the phone. it gets really frustrating trying to open my phone as it doesnt want to turn on most of the time, i was wondering if anyone else has a similar problem and have some kind of fix or solution to it? Other than that, i am really pleased with its overall functions etc.

Klyu, this is obviously a faulty handset. I recommend you take it back to the shop/provider you got it from and ask for a replacement, it really shouldn't do that and they should replace it for you.

I'm having trouble downloading videos onto my PC. I have 5 videos I have taken, but none of them show up in the "video" folder when I connect the phone to the PC. It doesn't matter what USB connection I have used. I have uploaded music to the phone but I can't send photos or video to the computer - can I please have some guidance on this, it is becoming very frustrating. Thank you

the phone has got a problem with txts being late and i think thats its something thats a majot issue and needs some type of update to sort out with...how they will do that i aint got a clue but its a problem..aslso the u have to make sure that u have nto got any unread txt message b4 u connect ur phone to copy ur photos...the phone will not allow u to connect if u have..,

hello....the problem with the connection is this....u cant have any message that u have noit opened on the phone...make sure that all the messages in ur inbox have been read and then re-connect and u should be fine after this....also make sure that the usb connection setting is on mass device (or soemthing like tha) because this is where the external device will come up on the computer screen for u to copy and paste from...it makes it easier!!!!!

Hey, I bought the LG Secret on contract a few months ago, great little phone and it was in great working condition for a few weeks, however just recently, I've found myself witht he problem, like some others on here, that I have to turn my phone off to get texts that need to come through. This even happens when I have full signal. It's really strange, and I love the phone so it would be great if I could get around it! Any suggestions?
Also, the touchpad keys (the little dits) have completely gone, I'm not too bothered about this because its purely visual, the buttons still work, but has anyone else had this problem?

I have installed LG PC Suite II but when i go to look into my folders on the phone the message;
"Fail to connect to the mobile handset, Please check COM port and connect idle screen. Due to multifunction, despite idle screen, it can be failed to connect"

i have realised that if u have a msg on the phone and then not looked at it and then try and connect the phone it wont allow u to...u have to make sure all messages have been read and also there is no caller missed display or that kinda thing on the screen....u can tehn connect the usb or bluetooth it to the phone...(listen to me like im an expert....i just have trialed and error soo much now)

I followed the instructions from #44, but once I choose the 'data service' option, my phone will NOT connect to the computer.

If I choose mass storage, it will connect, but it will only let me use the music option.

And if I use that, I can't even put ONE song on my phone because it says it is full (I got it yesterday and I have not put anything on it yet, so I don't know why it's supposedly full..)

yes this is a common problem with the phone that sometimes u wont get txt for a whole day or so and as soon as u restart the phone or wait till the battery has died that a flood of txt's come through..i fink this is a problem with the phone and something that has to be lived with to be honest..

I'm from Mexico City and have the same problem with incoming text messages, I don't receive any of them untill I restart my phone.

hello the problem with the music thing when u connect the usb is because u have set up ur storage section to have media player...so as soon as the usb see's this it turns it into the msuci player...

I see that 2 people have raised this issue but it has not been resolved.
For some unknown reason I don't receive most of my messages, but when I turn my phone off and on again they are sitting in my inbox (no alert given) with the relevant time stamps. I have received messages 2 days late at times and it is incredibly irritating. I have called Orange and they have been through all the necessary steps to ensure it is not a network issue.
This is clearly an problem with the phone, but it is not acceptable to not receive message at the time they were sent and 2 days late is a complete joke.

This has happened with my original LG secret and the replacement I received 3 weeks ago. I have put my SIM into my old phone and had absolutely No problems receiving messages... This clearly highlights that this is not a problem with my service provider.

I would really appreciate if someone can help me out with this as I am at my wits end... Dialaphone have just offered me yet Another replacement but I am worried I will continue to have this issue with LG Secrets!

I have the same problem that Jack has! My LG Secret DOESN'T RECONIGZE by the computer. And my other computer, it does. But it only SHOW Music Sync, and when I'm installing the Modem drivers from the CD, it gives me THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!

If any1 can help me with the problem of the pc suite that would be great.Also the problem with the blue tooth conections having to be set up every time..besides that i love the phone and would recommend it to any1.

just to say that i can watch avi, and div x films but u have to use the softwarer that came with the phone (i,e on the pc suite) and then use that to convert the software and then put i on ur phone and it will work fine...many head bangin to getthis sorted but it works fine now...

also ive got a 8gb card in my phone from orange and there is no problem with this at all...at the begiing i had the problems with txts being late but i rang orange and told them about it and then they send a txt to me phone and it sorted it all out...other issues i found i have lived with ii.,e when u blooth tooth to ur computer using usb dongle if u turn ur computer of it loses the sestting and u have to do it all again unlike my nokia which would keep it every time...u cant store preserved bluetooth sesttings with this phone

i have had the phone for 3-4 months and its a great phone...i can download pics, music and everythign...the pc suite is the worst ive ever used...u can't tell who is sending you the txt because it only shows the number and not the name yet on the contact part ofthe pc suite u see all the information...whats the point of that...its not like u goning to remeber all the names and numbers from your head....very bad very bad..the phone itself is good and ive downloaded games and so forth...its a shame there is no feed back when i have rang many times about the pc suite problem..

I got the following information from support which might be helpful:

The KF750 has 4 connectivity modes:

Mass Storage: When connected to the PC the PC should detect the handset as a mass storage device, files can be transferred to and from the handset using ‘drag & drop’ or ‘copy & paste’.

Data Service: When connected to the PC the PC should detect the handset as a mobile phone and load the appropriate divers so that the PC sync software may be used.

Music Sync: When connected to the PC the PC should detect the handset as a 'Portable device' e.g. an MP3 player and programs like Windows Media Player will be able to transfer music and videos to the handset.

PictBridge: When connected to the PC the PC should detect the handset as a PictBridge device and load the appropriate drivers for a digital camera, the handset will be treated by the PC as if it were a digital camera.

To switch between the various connectivity modes please press the handsets Main menu key in the centre of the touch pad and select -> Settings -> Connectivity -> USB connection mode -> and then select from the 4 available options:

1 Mass storage
2. Data service
3. Music Sync
4. PictBridge

Note: The correct mode for using the PC Suite software is: Data service.
If the handset appears to be in Data Service mode and you are still unable to access all the PC sync functions we would respectfully suggest that the PC sync software may need to be uninstalled and reinstalled.

I have been having the same problem, the LG PC Suite 2 will only connect to my phone for music, on all other settings on the USB on my phone, it keeps saying that it Failed to connect the phone to the pc.

Finally got round to running the software cd that came with this phone today.
For some reason however, none of the functions other than the music transferring function are available in the menu of the LG PC Suite..which is really frustrating as all I want to do is put some pics on the phone from my PC.
Ive checked and it says that the PC-LG connectivity is fine, but the phone doesnt show up on the computer so I cant even send a pic to it directly. Cant understand why its not being acknowledged when the drivers have been dowmloaded.
Tried on two different computers now and bot having the same problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

i have had my secret for 2 weeks,great phone but my camera and video camera have a horizontal line showing about three quarters down the screen-its more prominent inside the house or in a darker place,it shows up on the taken picture or video and is really annoying.My wife has the same phone and hers is perfect,is there anything i can do to get rid of this line?

same problem as lizzie and rachael with me. Well sort of. The phone for me is great, just my style and i love it to bits ! but i am also having trouble gettin the pictures onto my computer ? And i really want to get them on soon ? when i connect the USB cable to my computer, the pc suite comes up, but the only icon that is clickable is the music sync, which i have no real interest in using. I try switching the settings everyway i can, such as, mass storage, data service, pict bridge, ive tried them all ! But still no luck! I just upgraded to the LG Secret and whilst I think it is a great looking phone phone there are a few issues such as battery life and a music player which is really slow to respond when you want to browse your playlists.
However, the one thing that I am really not happy about is that Orange decided to remove the Google apps. One of the features that I bought it for was to have these integrated apps. I downloaded the gmail java application but it is buried under several layers of menus and keeps asking permission to connect each time you run it.
The built in mail client on the phone also doesn't work with gmail as SSL isn't supported.
Does anyone know if you can download the integrated google application suite for this phone from anywhere?

Hey- i've just recently got this phone on contract and i absolutely love it! I am literally the envy of all my friends. One of the things i was looking forward to the most about this phone was the camera... it takes great pictures, and there are about 3 different ways of viewing them on the phone (i like the touch media way!) but i'm having the same problem as Rachael (23rd August, 2008, 9:36PM) in the sense that i do have pictures on my phone, but when i connect it via USB lead to my computer, and turn the USB connection mode onto pictbridge, it comes up with the message "no new photos or videos". Its annoying cos i have some really nice pictures of my friends on there that i want to upload onto my computer! Oh if it makes it any easier- i've got a memory card in my phone, which most of the pictures are saved onto... do you reckon that this is the problem? Please let me know soooooon ?? =]

Like Danny has said above I am also experiencing problems with texts. I have a friend who also has the phone and is on a different network and who also is not recieving messages. This is the only fault I can really find with the phone.

just bought this phone!...visually and technological it's amazing to me. alot of thought went into this phone you can tell. 1 little warning to everyone with fat thumbs..and thank god mine are not lol....the 'ok' button is way to close to the 'up and down' touch buttons....you will find yourself pressing them before the 'ok' button too many times! especially because it's quite flat too!

Hi Danny - having checked with our tech guys this sounds almost certainly like a problem with your network provider and not with the phone - maybe its worth double-checking your SMS settings with them first?

Have recently upgraded to a LG Secret on 02. Am really pleased with it apart from one thing. I do not always get text messages when I should. I received one text 4 days after the sender sent it. I find that in order to receive some texts. I have to turn my phone off and then back on again, upon starting up the message icon appears on top of the screen and I find severall texts waiting for me in my inbox. Why am I not getting the texts when I should.

Just got this phone on contract and love it apart from one problem.I cant transfer pictures from or to it!Im on windows vista so wondered if that might be the problem?I change the settings so its on the pictbridge setting which i also do when I transfer music which works fine but when I try to transfer pictures off my phone it says I have no pictures to transfer which is not true and then when I try to put pictures on my phone I get an error on the screen saying I need to close other aplications and then an error on my computer saying connection closed.I really dont know what to do! I picked this phone up recently and I have to say I love it, but like Luke says, I was disappointed to see that the Google Package is not included. Is there any way to download this to the phone?

Also, I'm having trouble watching videos on YouTube. I've bookmarked YouTube's mobile site on the phone but whenever I view a video it says 'Connecting' for a while and then something like 'Connection timed out' (I can't see for sure cos the screen only lasts about 1/4 of a second). I've tried this with several videos and they all do the same thing.

I'm on an O2 contract with unlimited web access and my streaming settings appear to be fine. Any ideas?

hai ppl, feel sad listen to lg secret owner by contract.. so much problem seem to appear..i got mine 2 week ago and did not get contract got mine carphonewarehouse for 299 plus 20 for airtime on O2 network and have to say i live in birmingham city got my phone bar full that is 7bar Excellent my call/recieve s cystal!, my lg secret work just perfect.. my battery life been control by switch on power saver on phone last 3 day after full charge and normal phone use and game, also i found out LG secret KF750 able to use microSD card's upto 8GB yea i know it say upto 4GB but i have faith my secret.. bought 8GB put on Boom work like.. perfect.. love my secret and it will last, hehe remember "good to hav secret, but to own it better"

Sasha - there should be no network problems with either Vodafone or T-Mobile. The phone comes with a USB cable and PC suite for connection & synchronisation with your computer, and the micro SD card is hot-swappable with no ill effects (I've just tried it on mine to make sure!). I hope all your questions are now answered, feel free to ask any more.

I'm thinking of getting the LG Secret either on Vodafone or T-Mobile and was wondering if there would bt any network issues. Also, does it have USB connection for downloads onto my computer or a hot-swappable microSD card facility?

Peter and Luke, There is no known issue with Viewtys on Orange.. Our tech bods say "We do build operator specific software to ensure they are able to be customised for each of the operators' required services but usually it should all be done off the same base software so I’m not sure that is the reason for the differing network connection capability between the 2 networks.." They're going to look into this further for you.

Collin, sorry to hear you've been let down by your phone. I have a tip for you too - use the KF750’s ‘Auto Luminance Control’ to reduce the battery consumption by the screen by allowing it to adjust the contrast of the screen in line with the light levels outside the device – this can be turned on by going in to the settings menu then selecting ‘Display Settings’ and finally option number 5 called ‘Backlight’ – in this menu it allows you to select something called ‘Auto Brightness’ – this needs to be turned on and then the phone itself automatically adjusts the contrast and brightness of the screen dependent on the ambient light levels around the device at that time – thus reducing battery consumption levels.

I've got two of these on two different contracts with Vodafone (mine and wife's), hers for about a fortnight and mine arrived yesterday.

The functionality of the unit is great. I have also however seen similar problems to Peter (comment 15) and Luke (14) with signal dropping out and displaying "Emergency Calls Only".

More important than this problem though is the aweful battery life.

When my wife's arrived she set it up, like you do. We had a play, like you do. The battery was dead in 36 hours. Thought it might be a battery problem. Charged it. Again 36 hours and it was dead. No phone calls made and about 10 text messages.

I charged my handset all day yesterday and set it up when I got home. Changed some settings, transferred a couple of files for ringtones, took a couple of pictures. I haven't made a phone call or sent a text message yet! I got to work at 0830 today and the phone was dead at 9. That's 12 hours on battery life and I'm now stuck without a phone until I can get home and charge it.

I think both these handsets will be going back to Vodafone and we'll get something that's reliable.

We have three Viewty's in our family business, all on the Orange network. So far we have had to return two of them because of the same problem Luke has expereienced. Loss of signal and callers getting voice mail when you know the phone was not engaged. One of the phones has been changed twice but still the problem continues. My daughter has had a Viewty for some time now but it's on T Mobiles network and she has not had a problem. We do not experience network problems on Orange if we switch to our old spare phones, like the Samsung D900, so could it be something that is different in the Orange Viewty's?

I have just got my LG from orange! But I am having so much problem with the signal! It will have full bars, then just drop down to nothing and say "Emergency calls only" i've called orange and all they said is they will monitar my calls and see if it continues doing this. Also it never came with the Google Package!

My initial thoughts when I first held this in my hand was that it felt very sturdy, definitely not one of those fragile/low build quality plastic products!

The carbon fibre is a very nice touch and also the tempered glass ensures a high build quality feel and should mean that this is one mobile that will last till the end of your contract!

Is the video in browser using Flash or is it same as iPhone?

I have to say I like the sound of the carbon fiber. I am normally more of a function over form kinda guy and tend to go with huge smart phones though it does lookl like this phone has both form and function.

Nice looking device -- the carbon fibre and glass approach gives it a kind of industrial smooth cachet. What's the web browser on the device -- the same as the Viewty? The tech docs don't mention the brand of the browser. Looks pretty smart, though. If you need someone to review, just say the word ;-)
